DNS leaks mean that after you connect to a VPN/proxy, you still resolve domain names through the local ISP, which can risk DNS leaks.
The test method is to access newly generated domain names and detect which region's DNS you are resolving through. If the returned region data is the same as your local ISP, there is a risk of leakage, and you may need to modify your VPN/proxy settings.
